Some of the tested CPUs include the below (not all from the charts are listed, since several are no longer sold):

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X (Amazon):
Intel i9-9900K (Amazon):
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (Amazon):
Intel i7-9700K (Amazon) (not really recommended for RDR2):
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (Amazon):

Red Dead Redemption 2 had a lot of issues at launch, and so far, those seem to be largely persisting. Most of them are related to the Rockstar Launcher not opening Red Dead 2, Red Dead Redemption 2 crashing, stuttering/freezing, or exhibiting poor performance. Even still, we managed to put together a CPU benchmark in Red Dead Redemption 2. We only had the issue where RDR2 won’t launch one time, and that was “fixed” by changing the entire motherboard and its BIOS alike. AMD wasn’t the only processor afflicted with Rockstar Games’ poor launch, though: Intel’s facing the RAGE plague again wherein performing better equates performing worse. If that sentence doesn’t make sense, you’re not alone in being confused about it — check the video for more discussion in our CPU benchmarking & technical review of Red Dead 2 on PC. We’re looking at Intel vs. AMD CPUs today.
