I do a draw of photograph editing with RAW files and I needed a powerhouse of a computer that would hush be a power station of a computer a few years from now as engineering changes. I besides needed a crispen screen and wanted a smaller size ( my older laptop, besides an ASUS, weighs about 6lbs and has a 15 ” screen. ) This laptop is fantastic ! The SSD is lightning fast, the sieve is gorgeous ( I did n’t need a touch screen but I wanted the QuadHD- I ‘m one of those people who can tell the deviation at a glance between FullHD and QuadHD ). My ally who does n’t have the best eyesight and thought the 13.3 ” screen would be besides small is even envying it proper now. Windows10 took some getting used to, but I like it now that I ‘m adjust. It ‘s very easy to use, it ‘s barely very different if you ‘re used to Windows 7. The keyboard is nice. ( I ‘m accustomed to ASUS keyboards, and this one is n’t much different from my old one. The keyboard was decidedly a factor I considered when I chose this calculator over a Dell with similar specification. ) There are a pair things that I ‘ve read in early reviews that people have trouble with which I think are plainly due to the user not being conversant with the computer.
The first is the track pad- I thought it did n’t work properly ( would n’t scroll ) and I was looking all over the internet for a solution to make my post new chase launching pad bring by rights. What I discovered ( by accident ) is that the trackpad is set to scroll BACKWARDS, as if you were scrolling the reach screen itself. That means that down is up and up is down. It ‘s not hard to get used to, but if you ‘re not used to it, it ‘s hard to figure out. I love the trackpad functionality ( zoom, scroll, grab/drag ) but it does take some getting used to and I frequently use an external mouse as well, depending on what I ‘m doing. The early is the backlit keyboard. You can turn it off ! fn+f3/f4 adusts the backlight, all the way down is off. I ‘ve seen other reviewers say that they ca n’t turn it off and it wastes battery, which is untrue, but the only way to turn it off is by using ASUS ‘ amazing shortcut keys ( fn+ fluorine keys. There ‘s besides one to turn the blind off, f7, thus if you hit that one and your screen goes black, you did n’t break it ! ) I ca n’t speak to battery liveliness, unfortunately, because I ‘m one of those people who uses the laptop plug in 90 % of the time, thus battery life is n’t very important to me. From what I ‘ve read on other reviews and observed in the short-change fourth dimension I ‘ve run it on barrage, if battery life is your headman concern you might want to look at early models which have fewer office drain features. I ‘m sure besides that the exponent consumption of this model can be optimized, but since it ‘s not my chief refer I have n’t done it.
